Dispute with furniture retailer over unsatisfied purchase can I get a refund: purchased furniture was not satisfied. complainked to worker there she told me to bad i put a stop payment on check now furnitur posted 8 months ago in Lawsuits / Disputes Robert's answer: Look to your purchase contract as far as returns/refunds. Does your situation fall into any of those categories? If so you may have a chance. Or there may be other causes of action such as fraud, misrepresentations, and perhaps other things.Your best bet would be to find a lawyer down in Miami and talk to them about this. Good luck. Posted 7 months ago. how do i file a lawsuite in small claims court ?: I have an agreement with an attorney for a set amount to be paid to his firm. He was willing to take monthly payments, although we never agreed on a set amount, I have been making reasonable and regular payments but they continue to overbill me, which I have brought to their attention twice before, and now they have filed a judgement to collect on the balance. I feel very strongly that he has violated the agreement ,and is trying to bully and intimidate me. And will I be able to persent my side at this judgemeny hearing? I would also like to follow up with a suite in small claims court. Please I do need some good advise thank you for your time. Rocky Posted 7 months ago in Lawsuits / Disputes Robert's answer: You should check with the clerk of court in your area - they are quite helpful in small claims courts in many states because they understand that most of the parties are not represented by lawyers. The clerk can be an invaluable resource. I am not licensed to practice in NJ (only in FL) so this is not legal advice. Find a NJ lawyer for legal advice.Good luck. Posted 7 months ago. Someone is threatening to file a lawsuit against my husband and I. Do we need to get a lawyer now or wait?: They want to file a suit for the return of property they believe belongs to them. We have a title stating the legal owner. All the legal facts are in our favor. Do we need to get an attorney now or wait until the suit is actually filed? Posted 7 months ago in Lawsuits / Disputes Robert's answer: Depending on what the potential litigation is going to be about you may or may not want to retain a lawyer now. In most cases you would only hire an attorney after you have been served with the lawsuit - but don't wait! Find a lawyer licensed in MS immediately because you only have a limited amount of time to respond or have a default judgment entered against you.I am only licensed to practice law in FL so you should find a MS lawyer because my information above is not legal advice. Good luck! Posted 7 months ago. See all of Robert's answers
